More Interesting Sites!

At least, I found them interesting....these are more sights from our stroll through downtown Frederick, MD.

If we ever want mushy peas, this is the place!

Though I've never heard of peas with fish & chips. What the heck is that??

We're not exactly sure what this is:
It sits on top of the carillon bell tower. If I had decent eyesight, I might be able to figure it out.

Maybe some kind of little patriot blowing a horn? My eyesight is pretty dreadful, so I wouldn't have been able to make it out.

What the heck are mushy peas? But, if they go well with fish & chips, then I'm willing to try them.

I LOVE mushy peas. They are also known as MArrowfats, and are cooked till they are literally, well, mushy. Its hard to explain the appeal, but I ate a lot of them as a teenager....Deep Fried Bangers and Mushy Peas from the chippy....mmmmmmmmm, yum. That might explain what happened to my svelte figure ;p

Hi mebeth - your guess is as good as mine!

SK - you scare me.... :p

Hey Ed - that's very brave of you. Joe just barely got me to try peas a few weeks go, I don't know if I'm ready for the mushy version....

Hi Linda - Mushy foods scare me! Especially green ones :p

What are bangers? Clearly I don't get out much...haha.

Another view on mushy peas:
Ew. double-ew. Had some in England from the fish and chips place where my cousins get excellent fish and chips. So you figure, they do a good job , right? And my cousins said they were typical.
They were an unnatural livid green, vile texture, and gag-worthy flavor. And this review comes from a woman who likes virtually everything-I am the polar opposite of a picky eater.
I'd never try to convince anyone to avoid trying new things...just bring a plastic bag.

PS Bangers=fat sausages in England. Bangers and Mash=sausages and mashed potaoes. Very good. Unlike mushy peas.
