We're Traveling!
We're off to Minnesota on Wednesday for Joe's sister's wedding on Satruday, and then heading to Frederick, Maryland for a week of work and house hunting. Wee!
My very first home-ownership experience was in Frederick, Maryland, in the early 90's. It was a carriage house - a back-to-back town house. Brand new, too - I was so excited!
When we were back in Maryland last month, I wanted to show it to Joe and see what became of the area. Sure enough, the house is still there! This is it:I'm very proud that the storm door I put on seems to still be hanging! Woo!

What! You're coming to my neck of the woods and didn't make arrangements to stop and see me?? Hmph! Like I'll ever make plans to stop and see you when I go to see my folks in Tucson. Ok, you won't be in AZ then, but you get my point.
Adorable house! Good luck with your hunting.
SK: It's one heck of a long neck - we're in Albert Lea :) We were only in your neck of the woods long enough to get off the plane and into our rental car!
But your point is gotten and your disgust noted.
Thanks mebeth! It was a great first house.
Our real estate agent in Maryland is promising great things this time! We're excited :)
My brother apparently has a job of some sort with a start up company in MD. He referred to it as being in Baltimore, but my folks tonight said it was in Frederick. Talk about a small world.
(The reason I don't know anything about his job is that even though we're vaguely in the same area - mortgages - what he tells me goes in one ear and out the other.)
But since I mentioned that I have a co-worker who would be moving to Frederick soon, they commented that maybe I should encourage him (meaning you) to buy a house with an extra bedroom to rent to my brother, who only needs a place to sleep when he travels out East.
I just don't think I could inflict my humorless brother on you and Joe, though it might make for an intersting sitcom: Man with no sense of humor and in desperate need of an affair moves in with a pirate! And his easy-going (I'm guessing Joe is easy going) partner. Laughs ensue for the audience as brother fails to see the humor in anything said pirate and partner do and graces said couple with his uptight visage.
I hope the wedding is enjoyable and you have a good time in MN.
I probably won't be going down to AZ until my dog dies, so I can't say that i'm looking forward to my next trip.
oh, and MM has been trash-talking you.
Hope you guys have a great rip. good luck with the house hunting.
After a week with us, your brother would either move to Syberia, or become incredibly funny by osmosis.
We'll be sure to look for places with spare rooms. Rents starting at $1,000 a day. I'll retire yet....
Great wedding, Joe will be posting pictures on his blog over the next few weeks.
MM always trashes me, what's new...
Patti: Thanks! We really are hopefully we find something we like! I'm ready to move NOW!!
