Winter storm watch upgraded to a warning for most of Minnesota and Wisconsin....dangerous travel conditions Saturday PM hours

Roughly 6" of snow for much of the metro before a changeover to ice Saturday evening....less snow/more ice just south of the Twin Cities...mostly snow from St. Cloud to Princeton, Cambridge and other far northern suburbs, where 8-12" accumulation is expected.

Whaa-whaaa-whaa---what??!! Eek. Winter is here! And check out the low/hi temps for the next few days.....

Mission Accomplished - The Best One Yet!

Today was The Big Day - Christmas Tree Day! YAY! I was off from work, and we decided it was the perfect day to go do this. That, and a cold snap will be here tomorrow, along with snow later this week....

We found a great place called Hampton Hills tree farm, which has a huge cut-your-own selection. And boy, is it out in the country. This is the road leading to the farm:

But it was well worth the effort to get there - they had alot of trees, and a big variety:
After making Joe drive up and down the rows and get out several times to inspect, we came across THEE perfect tree:
It's a Fraser Fir - and it's a little over 9 feet tall! Joe spotted it and after careful inspection, down it went! It certainly filled the top of the car, wouldn't you say?

We did measure our ceiling before we left, and knew we had 9 feet to work with, so we figured with just a little bit off the trunk, this would be a great fit. And guess what - it is!
This is the best Christmas tree ever! I can't wait till we get it trimmed. Big yay!

We Really Need A Shovel....

It's Beginning to Look Alot Like.....

CHRISTMAS!!!!Joe picked up a holiday wreath the other day - let the holiday season begin!

We might tackle the roof lights this weekend, since they are calling for some mighty chilly weather - and snow or freezing rain! - later next week.

Down and Back

Though we took the camera on our trip to Des Moines, we really didn't get any good pictures. These are the best I came up with:

I wish we could have seen them actually lifting up a big blade and putting it on!

Pet Pics

I haven't posted pet pics in a few weeks, so here's the gang, doing what they do best:
Nothing! And did you notice Max sticking his tongue out at me?! Little snot... :p

Shortly after, Max went back to napping on the bed, and was none too happy when I woke him up to play:
Spike just wishes I would leave him alone and stop taking pictures....
That won't happen :p

We're off to Des Moines for a few days. The pets are going down to the farm with Grandma and Grandpa while we're gone. They haven't been there since we left for Phoenix 4 years ago!
